Why Ældern Tomes

I started Ældern Tomes because buying books as a collector has become a miserable experience: Stock photos that could be any edition or version. Condition grades with boilerplate hedging. Vague descriptions that tell you less than nothing. I got tired of playing a slot machine when buying my books, so I built the store I wanted to buy from.

The Book You See Is the Book You Get

Every book I sell is the exact one you see in the photos—photographed in detail, dust jacket on and off, copyright page, any flaws. No mystery warehouse bins. No stock images. If I wouldn’t buy it based on my own listing, it doesn’t go up.

I specialize in first edition and collectible fantasy, science fiction, and Star Wars Expanded Universe hardcovers—with a focus on signed or collectible editions, 1st prints, out of print, or any books that matter to collectors.
